So there is one character of a man I think we have all grown to love.
Let's just call him S. Clause or Santa C.
Lately I have been thinking about Mr. S and the traditions he
used to implement into my home this time of the year.
His yearly visit usually meant cookies on Christmas Eve,
water for the reindeer,
and not being able to sleep!
Of coarse at the crack of dawn the next morning,
we would all fly the coop (my sister's large pink bedroom)
and rush to see the presents,
the reindeer and sleigh tracks,
and try to figure out who ate those darn cookies!
But seeing as we are all at least in our teens or above...
Christmas has changed in our old brick home.
We still have the presents and family parties,
but we sleep until about 8 or 9
(this is a huge improvement for my parents)
and have a nice breakfast together as well.
We still discuss the true meaning of Christmas as well and
read that story from the Bible every season.
However, I cannot wait to have little ones in our family again
so these old traditions can return.
My absolute FAVORITE was trying to figure out who
MR. S
is and how he came and went without a sound.
This led me to find the NORAD Santa Tracker.
My ultimate weapon.
This site tells you where Mr. S is all around the world!
I loved informing my little sister where he was.
CHINA!
RUSSIA!
INDIA!
then when he got closer (say... Colorado) I always informed everyone
it was time to go to bed!
So now, maybe those of you with younger siblings or kids
will head over to the Tracker
and keep my little tradition going?
To those without young children around I ask,
What are your Christmas Holiday traditions?
Let me know!
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
